Crafty Shmafty

The last couple of days I have been creating a few items for the Swiss Christmas Craft show this weekend. I'm so into the baby leggings right now I had to make some, and flower clips as well. My mom had all of these vintage scraps of material she passed down, so I thought I would put them to good use, and this is what I have started so far, Oh,.. and my models worked out just great, don't you think so?

Project B

Ben doing a little adjusting on this one, but I love her plain expression, its so pure!

Ben decided the other day that he wanted to paint a painting of Bella holding a balloon, and of course I was so excited to think that he was going to paint our child!! He went to D.I. and got this big persons pajama top and had me alter it to fit her, then he found some accessories and whala, an interesting photo! I cant wait to see the painting!!

Christmas crafts

Rach came down yesterday and we decided to be crafters and make these cute christmas balls. I am so in the spirit these days!! here is a picture of darling "Cho" getting right to it. Of course we did not finish, because of the kids, kids, kids. With my two and her sweet one, its a house full! and I say I want four of them?? hmmmmm, might half to rethink that one!!

Buca di Beppo

Friday night Ben and I went to Jeff Hein's art studio open house. He is an amazing Painter, but of course not as great as Benjamin! afterwards we went to dinner with a bunch of artists that were there. Sean Diediker, Molly williams, Mark Stahman, Jennifer Rasmusson, Melisa Peck, Peter Sakievich and Justin Taylor. All are amazing working artists. We ate at this Italian place called Buca di Beppo, and they had these paper menus. Ben asked the waiter for some pens and then told everyone that they had to draw a quick portrait of Olea and sign there name on the back of a menu, so it was passed around and this was the outcome. It was fun to be amongst a group of great artists, and who knows maybe after everyone is dead this paper could be worth something?

Stars Film Festival

I didn't get very good pictures on this trip, it was too hard to be holding a sick baby and trying to adjust the camera.

Ben can now say that he is an official Film Maker!

The stars!

The gang - me

this piece of artwork was so crazy, it was flat but looked 3 dimentional. I wish I would have got Ben in focus, hillarious huh?!

catching up on some old times.

we saw this red door and just had to take a picture, wish i would have done a little better! but dang isn't he adorable!!

this Bouguereau painting was amazing! Ben and I were able to study this thing about a half inch away! it was so great to be able to share a moment like this with my hubby and both understand and appreciate it on the same level!

This past weekend we went to Denver to screen Ben's short film, Storpio, at the Stars Film Festival. We left Bella with Auntie Gina, John and the boys. It was the first time leaving her and.. yes.. I did cry a bit but was fine about 2 miles down the road. Lela got really sick and lost her voice, so it was quiet for 3 whole days but i felt so bad for her!! It was so fun to see "the Ben's" as film makers, screening their film that they made in Italy! our category was called "The importance of being Human" and we showed with 6 other films, ours being the longest, and the finally. I here there were some good ones but I, of course, was out in the hall with the sick baby. Afterward they had a Q & A and the Ben's were asked the most questions about thier film. Ahhhh, I'm so proud!! The next day Byron took us to the Denver Art Museum and found out that they were showing a collection from the Louvre, so we just had to go and it was so worth it! that night we bagged our complimentary hotel and went to stay with Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Carrie, they are the best hosts!! Thanks you guys!!! if anyone is interested about the film you can check out the link at http://www.storpio.com/ the trailer should be up in a few days.

B.

just a little photoshop fun on this one!

bella keeps talking about the "temple castle" where moms and dads get married, and when she gets big she is going to marry her daddy! so i thought it would be fun to do a little photoshoot with her in my wedding dress. she will probably like to see this one someday when she is really ready to get married. p.s. there was no instruction on these poses...which scares me a little!
